Under the broader Caucasus Edition Research and Journalism Fellowship, we are inviting experienced, as well as early-career journalists and editors from Armenia and Türkiye to apply for the Journalism Fellowship, a dedicated pathway supporting cross-border reporting, dialogue, and media collaboration. This track is designed for journalists interested in covering the evolving Armenia–Türkiye relationship and the wider post-conflict transformation of the South Caucasus through rigorous, conflict-sensitive, and forward-looking reporting.

What the Journalism Track offers:

  • Structured dialogue and exchange (2-5, May 2026)
Participants from the two countries will engage in facilitated dialogue aimed at discussing the conflict and the normalization process openly, critically, and constructively, creating space for nuanced understanding and professional collaboration.
  • Fieldwork in Armenia and Türkiye (5-9 May 2026)
The program includes a joint field component with opportunities to interview key analysts, policymakers, and civil society actors, as well as visits to border regions (subject to the political and security environment).
  • International study trip (July 2026)
Fellows from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye will participate in a comparative study visit to a post-conflict setting, such as Bosnia or Sri Lanka, to reflect on lessons of reconciliation, recovery, and media’s role in post-conflict societies.
  • Cross-border media placements (select participants – late-2026/early 2027)
A limited number of fellows will receive stipends to spend one to three months based in neighboring country, producing article series or other media outputs in collaboration with local outlets.
  • Institutional collaborations
The program aims to catalyze sustained partnerships between media organizations from Armenia and Türkiye. Journalists and editors affiliated with established outlets are especially encouraged to apply.

This fellowship track is funded by the European Union.
