Destruction of Azerbaijani monuments in occupied territories by Armenia debated at UNESCO [ENG]

The article says that Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO Eleonora Huseynova drew attention to the ongoing Armenian occupation of the originally Azerbaijani lands at the 36th session of UNESCO General Conference held on Oct. 29 in Paris. During the conference she stressed that this occupation led to the destruction of historical and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan, transformation of the occupied lands in the uncontrolled territory to engage in the illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and human organs.

Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group reported their one-year efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict [AZE]

The article says that Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group presented their annual report of activities to the Permanent Council of the OSCE summarizing their efforts to mediate the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Co-Chairs noted that in the past year they visited the region eight times and held fourteen separate meetings in various locations with Azerbaijani President Aliyev and Armenian President Sargsian. The Co-Chairs also crossed the Line of Contact by foot four times in the past fourteen months, demonstrating that the Line is not a permanent barrier between peoples of the region and that military coordination in implementing the ceasefire is possible when all the sides are willing. Moreover, the article says that the Co-Chairs plan to travel to the region again at the end of this month.

The article says that Egyptian mobile phone company Mobinil has suspended its cooperation with the Karabakh Telecom mobile operator, which functions in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories. After this cooperation was revealed, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Egypt sent a letter to the Egyptian government, which directly after announced the cooperation had ended.

OSCE to monitor contact line between Azerbaijani, Armenian armies [ENG]

Sabina Fraser: No progress expected on Nagorno Karabakh conflict resolution in next two years [AZE]

Referring to Sabina Fraser, ICG official, the article says no progress is expected on the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the subsequent two years, as elections will be held in OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries – U.S., Russia and France and later elections will be held in Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to the expert, the practice shows the negotiations slow down on the eve of elections. Azerbaijani and Armenian community is going to meet in Berlin [AZE]

The article starts to say that Armenian and Azerbaijani community is going to meed in German capital Berlin on Nov. 28. Rovshan Rzayev, the member of the Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh community Public Union, says that they are interested in meeting, however there is an invisible hand that is always hindering this kind of meetings between two communities. He thinks that more meeting between the communities could contribute to the easy way of the solution of the conflict. Rzayev continues to say that the Armenian community is expected not  to attend the meeting.
