The article says that Organisation of Islamic Cooperation calls for enabling the Azerbaijani refugees and expelled population to return to their homes in safety, honour and dignity. It was mentioned in a certain paragraph of the Ashgabat resolution adopted at the organization’s International Conference on the topic “Refugees in Muslim World” held in Turkmenistan’s capital on May 11-12, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
OSCE to monitor contact line between Armenian, Azerbaijani armies [ENG]
The article says that monitoring will be held on the contact line between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces near the Kuropatkino village in the Azerbaijani Khojavend region on May 16, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has told Trend. According to the article, a 19-year old soldier of the Azerbaijani Army, Nurali Aliyev was wounded as a result of violation of ceasefire by the Armenian Forces in the direction of Agdam region. The wounded soldier was hospitalized.
Kobia: EU wants to see progress in Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations [AZE]
The article says that the EU is willing to see a progress in the negotiations on the resolution of the Armenian- Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Roland Kobia, the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan, said at a press-conference that new position of a special ambassador missioned to specialize in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was established. Ambassador added that the EU intensively holds active dialog with Azerbaijan and Armenia to try to take concrete measures on creating trust between the countries, adding that the conflict has lasted for too long and people are sad about this conflict.
Twenty years pass since Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani Lachin region [AZE]
The article says that today Azerbaijan marks the 20th anniversary of the occupation of Azerbaijan’s Lachin region by Armenia. On May 18, 1992, the Armenian occupiers destroyed hundreds of cultural facilities, tens of settlements, villages and historical monuments. Some 63,341 Azerbaijani citizens were driven out of their homelands as a result of the occupation.
