The head of the Council of Europe office in Baku, Konstantin Erokostopoulos issued a statement indicating that the Council of Europe stands for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, on the basis of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
The meetings held in Baku with representatives of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), discussed the issue of airport construction in the town of Khojaly. The statement came from spokesman for Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Maharram Safarli. According to him, ECAC reported that the construction of the facility in the occupied Azerbaijani territories was illegal.
US State Department Spokesman on Iran Alan Air mentioned that Iran should not destabilize and slow down development of region in response to question about how Iran uses occupied territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia for illegal activity.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe made the call on March 22 to mark the 20th anniversary of the formal request to convene a conference on the conflict.

The post election visit of Lavrov according to Mr. Giragosian has more purpose of establishing influence with Azerbaijan and discussing general collaboration matters than focusing on Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

The article describes and quotes interview with the former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mathew Bryze. According to Bryza, the conflict can be solved if 5-6 conditions are satisfied. He also stated that while this is a big political risk, Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents can solve the conflict if they commit to it and trust each other.

This article discusses the statement by the Embassy of Georgia in Azerbaijan and the Georgian Foreign Ministry about Georgia’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and does not recognize the elections to local self-governing structures in Nagorno-Karabakh. Georgia also expressed its support for peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The article discusses the arms import by Azerbaijan in 2011 and its implications for the possible scenario of war outbreak with Armenia. According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute – Azerbaijan doubled its arms import between 2010-2011 and is not on 38th place on the ranking of the organization. Comparatively Armenia is only on the 84th place.

Press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told APA that the units of Armenian armed forces fired on the positions of Azerbaijani Army in Alibeyli village and nameless heights of Azerbaijan’s Tovuz region and in Kamarli village of Azerbaijan’s Gazakh region from the positions in Mososgekh village and nameless heights of Armenia’s Berd region and Berdavan village of Armenia’s Noyenberyan region at 15.30-15.40, 16.45-16.55 on March 30, at 06.22-06.25 on March 31.
